Working with Content Blocks

Content blocks form the basis for maintaining two types of content. They are found in the "_content-blocks" folder. BLOCKS DON'T PUBLISH. 

Content blocks feeding content on all pages in an individual site are

• department-title

• top-nav

• footer

Content blocks for Department and Division home pages have the following blocks: See image below

• Middle Row Blocks

  • Home News Article Chooser

  • Profile Chooser

  • Slideshow

  • Text Block

  • Calendar Block

  • YouTube Video Block

• Bottom Row Blocks
  
  
  • Bottom Row Left
  • Bottom Row Center
  • Bottom Row Right

NOTE: You can change the names of your blocks to match the title. (e.g. if you are using a Text Block and the title of it is called "Donate Now" rename the block to "Donate Now Block". That way it'll be much easier to remember the content of each block.)

Simply click "...More" and then select "Rename" from the drop-down menu.

Here is an example of re-named content blocks:

You can also "Copy" any of your content blocks if you would like to have more than one of the same kind. i.e. you want two YouTube video blocks for your two YouTube channels.
